The Rules of Premier Blackjack with Side Bets
If you’re an old hand at Blackjack, the rules of Premier Blackjack with Side Bets will be familiar. The standard Blackjack rules apply: Beat the dealer with a hand of 21 or as close as possible to it. Don’t overshoot the mark, though, or you’ll be the loser.
After placing your bet, you’ll be dealt two cards, both face-up for you but one face down for the dealer. If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace or a 10, they get to peek at the face-down card. Decide whether to Hit (receive another card) or Stand (refuse another card), based on your reading of the value of your hand and the value of the dealer’s face-up card.
“Soft hands” are those with an Ace, which can either be counted as 1 or 11, and anything other than a 10 card, while “hard” hands are those without. A ”natural” or “blackjack” hand consisting of an Ace and a 10 card gives you a score of 21 and pays out 3:2. The dealer always stands on a soft or hard 17.
Premier Blackjack with Side Bets is played with eight decks of cards, and you can play up to five hands at once.
Premier Blackjack with Side Bets Betting Options
This online blackjack game comes with Standard Bets (Double, Split, and Insurance) and two Side Bets (21+3 and Perfect Pairs).
- Double: Choose to double your bet in the middle of a hand with a hard value of between 9 and 11 and receive another card. You can use this option on any of your first two cards or after a split.
- Split: Two cards of the same value or two unlike 10-value cards can be split into two hands, increasing your odds of beating the dealer. Choose wisely, though, because you can only do this once. A bet equal to your regular stake is placed on the new hand, and a new card is dealt to each. A pair of Aces that are split, together with a 10, equals 21, not Blackjack.
- Insurance: Insure yourself against the dealer getting Blackjack at a cost of half your bet amount if their first card is an Ace. Your insurance bet is deducted from your balance if the dealer doesn’t have Blackjack, but you’re paid 2:1 if they do.
- 21+3: Look for the poker combinations, Suited 3 of a Kind, Straight Flush, 3 of a Kind, Straight, or Flush in your initial two cards and the dealer’s face-up card to win between 5:1 and 100:1 with this side bet.
- Perfect Pairs: Bet on whether your first two cards will make up a Perfect Pair, Coloured Pair, or Mixed Pair to win between 6:1 and 25:1. Pairs are numerical cards of the same value between 2 and 10 and face cards of the same face value.
